From 1997 to 2007, the Golden Foundation awarded over $100,000 in grants to individual artists and arts organizations. Individual grants are no longer awarded. In 2008, the Foundation focused its sights on building an artist residency facility. During this time, the Foundation supported an artist-in-residence at Atlantic Center for the Arts, Bemis Center for Contemporary Arts, Headlands Center for the Arts and Vermont Studio Center. With the completion of the Residency Barn in 2012, support now focuses on the development of the Golden Foundation Artist in Residence Program.
Beginning in 2004, with the initial development of its own residency program, the Sam and Adele Golden Foundation established the Golden Foundation Fellowship to provide continued assistance to the art community specific to the residing program.
